Users with a Samsung device must ensure the Smart Construction Field app battery setting is set
to “Unrestricted.” This is important for operators using equipment associated with a BLE
beacon. If the user’s Smart Construction Field app battery setting is not set to “Unrestricted,” this could
impact the accuracy/frequency of BLE beacon reporting (for Samsung devices).
The following steps will ensure a user has the proper battery setting for Samsung devices.
Step 1:
Go to the Smart Construction Field application on your Samsung device. Long press the app icon, and a
menu will appear. Select the information button.
Step 2:
Click the “Battery” menu. This will bring you into the battery settings for Smart Construction Field.
Step 3:
Ensure that the “Unrestricted” radio button is selected. After selecting this option and pressing the back button, the user now has the correct Smart Construction Field battery settings.
Note:
If the user’s battery setting for Smart Construction Field is set to “Unrestricted,” the overall battery
optimization for the phone should not impact the user. For example, if an operator has their Samsung
device in “Power Saving” mode and Smart Construction Field battery setting is “Unrestricted”, this user
will still have accurate BLE beacon reporting.
If the above steps do not match your Samsung device, please try the below steps. Users with older
Android OS can follow the below instructions.
Step 1:
Go to the Smart Construction Field application on your Samsung device. Long press the app icon, and a
menu will appear. Select the information button.
Step 2:
Click the “Battery” menu. This will bring you into the battery settings for Smart Construction Field.
Step 3:
Ensure that the “Allow background activity” toggle is selected. After selecting this option and pressing the back button, the user now has the correct battery settings for Smart Construction Field.
