Trigger-Based Clock In and Clock Out

Depending on enterprise and user settings, Smart Construction Field users may have the option of utilizing trigger-based time entry. This functionality automatically clocks users into a project as they enter a geo-fenced jobsite, and clocks them out as they exit. Note that in order to use this feature, background location services must be enabled on your mobile device.

To activate/deactivate trigger-based clock in and clock out:

1. Tap the  icon in the upper right corner of the app.
2. The menu opens. Tap the Settings option.
   
   
   
3. The Settings screen opens. The two fields that will drive these trigger-based functions are Trigger Events based on Jobsite location and Location Event Timecard Action. By default these will both be set to the Enterprise Setting option. This means that if your company has decided to use this functionality, it will automatically be turned on for you as well.
   
   
   
4. Here's a breakdown of the available settings:
   Trigger Events based on Jobsite location?
   

   Enterprise Setting	Applies your company's master settings to your account.
   Trigger Events	Allows you to turn on triggered events (this is an option only if your enterprise's settings allow it).
   Do Not Trigger Events	Allows you to turn off triggered events (this is an option only if your enterprise's settings allow it).

   
   Location Event Timecard Action
   

   Enterprise Setting	Applies your company's master settings to your account.
   None	No action is taken when you enter a geo-fenced jobsite.
   Notification	You are notified and prompted to clock in or out as you enter/exit a geo-fenced jobsite.
   Auto-Create Timecard	A timecard entry is automatically created for you upon entry or exit of a geo-fenced jobsite.

5. Once settings have been selected, to receive notification of the trigger-based events ensure that the "Push Notifications" option is selected. When activated, the push notifications will display as follows.
   
   
   
6. If you have entered or exited a jobsite while not using the app, the updated status of your clock-in/out will display when you revisit the app. These time entries will also appear in the Timecard.
