Release Version: 18.0
New features in this version of Smart Construction Office are as follows:
- Project Attachments Repository: All documents within a project can now be found within the Attachments Repository. This allows documents to have broader visibility among the team working on the project and for all documents to be available via a single view.
Documents can be added within "Project Attachments" in the top toolbar. From there you can determine the visibility of the attachment, choosing to limit visibility to Project Owner & Leaders and Internal members if necessary. - Budgeting Functionality: Budgets can now be tracked at the Smart Task level with the help of budget items. These items may include labor, materials, equipment, and more. This allows users to capture granular estimates and track them in an ongoing way.
- Items have been converted to "Resource Items": Within resource items you have the ability to add multiple categories: Equipment, Labor, Material, Miscellaneous, Subsidiary, or CAPEX.
Equipment and Labor estimates will pull from the Resource Types (Equipment Type and Labor Type). The other categories will be a manual input to produce the Unit/Unit Cost.
-
Resource Items will be surfaced in Estimated and Actual Cost columns per task: Actuals for Equipment and Material will now be pulled into Actual Cost field for the task. Resource columns now available include: Labor Estimate, Equipment Estimate, Material Estimate, Misc. Estimate, Subsidiary Estimate, and Capex Estimate. Actual Columns (indicating actual spend) include: Labor Actual, Equipment Actual, Material Actual, Misc. Actual, Subsidiary Actual, and Capex Actual. These values will be used to populate the Estimated Cost fields within the Project Power Grid.
- Items have been converted to "Resource Items": Within resource items you have the ability to add multiple categories: Equipment, Labor, Material, Miscellaneous, Subsidiary, or CAPEX.
-
- Cost Visibility Permissions: Users granted the Cost Visibility permission will have rights to view EVM fields, budget fields, the resources form, billing fields, rate schedules, and fully burdened cost for a user. These restrictions limit data visible in project, task, timecard, and user records.
- UI Enhancements:
- Power Grid UI now displays icons and counts in areas where there are actions available to take, or there is more information to be accessed.
- These action-based fields (like Time Card, Attachments, and Resource Items) can be accessed via a single click.
- Billing Codes:
- In addition to Cost Codes, Billing Codes are now available for assignment at the task or project level.
- There is a Billing Code column which can be added to the Smart Grid, and this also serves as a filter criteria, allowing dashboard panels to be built around this information in Portfolio and Project level dashboards.
-
MS Teams + Project updates:
-
Office's UI was updated for a more seamless MS Teams integration experience.
- MS Project documents now import into Office exponentially faster.
