Adding Material Receipts to a Project Using OCR

Smart Construction Field has Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality, which allows an image of a receipt to be taken and translated into text in the app, reducing the amount of time needed to make entries. As the same type of receipt is captured over time the translation to text becomes more and more accurate.

1. From the Homescreen, tap the Material button.
   
   From any other screen in the app, tap the icon in the lower menu.
2. The Material Delivery Log screen opens. Tap the the “+” icon in the lower right of the app to add a new receipt.
   
3. The Create Receipt screen opens to the OCR Scan dialogue. By default the Received Date (required) will be set to today's date, but it can be modified. Tap to choose a vendor (required), task, and/or cost code (required) from their dropdown menus.
   
4. Next you will add a photo of the material receipt or an item indicating what was received. Tap Capture Receipt Image to proceed.
   
5. The OCR Capture screen opens. Line up the receipt edges with the frame provided, then tap the Capture button to proceed.
   
6. The image loads into the Create Receipt screen. Tap the Retake Receipt Image button to discard this image and capture another, or tap the Checkmark button to proceed.
   
7. The entry now appears in the Material Delivery Log.
   
8. A notification will be sent to your mobile device confirming that the receipt was readable by the OCR technology. If a delivery ticket number is present on the receipt it will be added to the entry as well.
